"Feel the Bern": Sanders for US president
The road to the White House! For democrat hopeful Bernie Sanders, the campaign trail kicked off from his home town in Brooklyn, New York.
He gave a speech just a few kilometers from the apartment his parents rented and where he grew up. The Vermont senator made sharp comparisons between himself and fellow New Yorker, US President Donald Trump. Sanders spoke about his modest upbringing and that of the billionaire businessman. The veteran politician proclaimed himself the best Democrat to defeat Trump. There are factors that support his claim. Early polls indicate he is leading other challengers. He has a passionate support base. Sanders has raised millions of dollars from supporters contributing as little as three-dollars. However, other household names are also running. Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts; Former Vice President, Joe Biden, is also considering a bid for the White House.
